At least in Premiere 5.1, one makes the title "card"
(right-clicking on the background gives "properties",
then "background color" - rather obscure...;-) with
the title function, imports it and places it on any
track above V1 (you can use multiple tracks for
multiple layers of title action), selects the appropriate
key type, opens the track to adjust the "rubber band"
for fades, etc., right-clicks the title to apply motion
and filters, and has fun messin' aroun'...! ;-)
In the Premiere titler you can do lots of things, like
bring the title in big and soft (motion-tool + better
gausian blur, key-framed) and turning as it goes into
place (motion-tool - also where the "outside-of-frame"
color can be set), then fades as another title moves
in (track rubber bands, motion tool), with the new title
shifting color (keyframed color-balance filter), then
spinning away to "too-small-to-see" (motion-tool) - or
whatever you want...
