I think it is the only way to go with Premiere, short of
using a monster single monitor. Dual 17's work nicely,
and are easy to set up. A couple of layouts I like (P-5,
assuming single-view preview window, at 720x480, with
its frame size minimized) - 1) preview window upper
left of left monitor, and under it in order: navigator,
clips, transitions - with timeline full height on
right monitor and extending into the left monitor to
meet the preview window edge; 2) preview window upper
left, with navigator stretched to fit under, rest of
monitor occupied with clips and transition windows,
one over the other - with timeline occupying the
right monitor... (BTW, I use 1152x864 res. with both
monitors, medium-size film-strip view for timeline,
with V1A, V1B, V2->V5 and corresponding [and renamed
tracks to correspond] audio tracks + two extra
audio tracks which are left silent for storage of
sound I have disgarded the video from.)
