Should have added that I rarely use the page-turn
transition (much as I like graphics, it is a bit
"heavy-handed"...;-) Also, it isn't obvious at
first, but filters and effects can be combined with
the standard (and plug-in) Premiere transitions for
far more variety in transition-looks than it would
at first appear when you try out all the stock
transitions...;-) Think of key-framed filters and
effects applied in the parts of the clips covered
by the transition as "Tinker-Toy" parts, and use
your imagination to construct some rather nice
variations on the originals (the clip ends can
change color-tint, sharpness, speed, size, rotation,
etc. as they go into/out-of transitions, and the
transitions themselves offer more variety than
it might first appear (try iris circle/square/
diamond with the center placed near an edge or
corner and a thin colored border added - run
very slow or fast, for instance...).
'Course, trying all the possibilities takes
