I agree, but this worked so well/easily in Premiere
4.2 and 5.1 that it was a surprise to find that I could
not use the colored-border effect on the filters in
Premiere 6...

This should be a codec effect with DV, and the Canopus
codec I use does not show this effect (the Spark/Adaptec
codec I first used did, though, along with a green and
darkening shift...). It is odd that when the colored
border is used in P-6, the whole image area softens and
enlarges vertically (without the border, all is normal).
I often use this effect, so the loss of time and the
inconvenience of having to move the transition over to
AE is noticeable...
