PS-mode *does not* normally increase resolution,
and due to the way it is sometimes implemented,
it may actually reduce spatial resolution in addition
to the usual temporal resolution reduction. For
TV viewing, DO NOT use PS-mode while shooting! In
the Sony VX2000, the frame rate is reduced to a
"blinking" 15fps, and processing has been done in
the PS mode to optimize the stills quality, and
as a result motion-video shot in this mode has
unacceptable picture artifacting (in addition to
the usual disadvantages...) - Sony should never
have offered the option of shooting motion video
with the VX2000 in this useless mode...
