Actually, the CCD pixel count of the PC101 is a bit
lower, and the PC101 is newer... Sony tends to run 2-3
concurrent levels of 1-chippers, and two of 3-chippers,
with the 1-chippers available in both "upright" and
"horizontal" styles eventually (some parts of the 1-chip
line sometimes overlap in time, giving three levels, as
now with the TRV18, TRV25/7, and TRV50 [or PC9, PC101,
and PC115/120]...). I guess the answer to your first
question may be that the PC101 occupies a new niche
between the PC9 and PC110 levels, rather than really
replacing the PC9...?;-)
