If you use the images only for web use, capture at 640x480,
since the quality appears better even if the larger ones are
resized to 640x480... The sound is excellent on the PC100,
but the mic is a bit sensitive to wind (common) - so an
external mic with a good add-on windscreen can be useful.
I find the color a tad blue, so I like to use it with a
yellowish skylight filter on, locked in DWB outside. Several
WA converters work well with this camcorder. I just bought
a Sony IR light (the one that takes camcorder NP-F LI, or
AA alkaline batteries), and with a slight diffuser on the
front, can shoot nice B&W IR in no light. You can cheat the
Sony lock-out of daylight IR by using crossed polarizers +
a 4X ND filter - even though shooting wide-open, the images
are good (for daylight IR frame-grabs, see the TRV9 review
