For a video light, the Sima (at Ritz) 10/30-watt switchable,
with included Sony-type NiCad for $50 is OK (I adapt these
for use on 6-volt gel-cells for reasonable run-time...).
I would look at the Sony dedicated lights, too.
For WA, the best general-use one for camcorders I've found
is the Sony VCL-ES06 made for the Mavika, though it will
zoom only about 2X and needs stepping rings to fit (but
it is sharp, cheap, light, and compact). Best on these
(but TOTALLY impactical) is the Kenko KNW-05Hi, a "monster"
that is as big and heavy as the camera...
The Sony .6X made for the mini-Sony camcorders is good
at small stops at the short end, but not as good as the above
at wide stops.
BTW, there are reviews of Mini-DV camcorders on my web site,
at: http://www.David-Ruether-Photography.com/camcorder-comparison.htm
with WA recomendations for each.
