I was happy to see Gary's clarification, since I also thought one
of the posts could have been interpreted as he said...
BTW, all PC's that I know of (for 35mm) will shift in ALL directions,
and it is sometimes useful to shift horizontally (to flatten the view
of a building that cannot be otherwise centered in the frame, or to
change size relationships in landscapes, etc.) - I often combine
H shift with V rise to apply diagonal correction with my Nikkor
35 and 28mm PC's.
