>Quick question from me for Nikon experts: is the FG the only Nikon body >that can do "Program" mode without an AIS lens? It seems so from the >Peterson book and from my FG owner's manual.
I seem to remember that the N2000 and the N2020 can do it, the FA
can, and I think the F4 can, also. Remember that the AIS lenses
were designed to have greater precision in the relationship
between the position of the aperture actuating lever and the
aperture selected by the camera than AI and previous lenses had.
The FA, at least, takes a momentary meter "look" after the diaphram
has closed and adjusts the shutter speed to fit, so the exposures
are correct, even with non-AIS lenses. I don't know if the other
bodies that will do "program" with non-AIS lenses will do that.
Hope This Helps
