I disagree with the first part. From direct observation
of the same material on different sized consumer TVs
of the same type (say, Sony Wega...), with each increase
in screen size (all else roughly equal), more detail and
texture is visible as the screen size increases... The
reason for this may also be obvious: the dot-size is
roughly the same in all the sizes, giving a relatively
rougher screen in the smaller sizes...
