Hmmm, you must not care much what the edges look like...;-)
(The 28mm E [and similar-optic'd AF non-D] was Nikon's one failure
in the E-line, I think..., but I'm not fond of the 28-70 either.
Try an *AIS* [MF] 28mm f2.8 sometime, if you want to see how good
a 28mm lens can be...) In the E-line, I rate the 28mm poor,
the 35 OK-good, the 50 good-excellent, the 100 top-quality, the
135 close to that, the 36-72 OK, the 75-150 top-quality,
the 70-210 excellent - not bad for the "cheap" line of
lenses! ;-) Too bad current "bottom end" lenses aren't this
good...! ;-)
