Oh, come now - where do you get your information?! I have used a lot
of Nikkors, and I fail to see the "problems" you seem to find with them
(from 3rd hand opinions?). I have seen VERY few klunkers in the Nikon
lens line (though there is always the occasional poor sample, almost
always a 35-X zoom, for some reason...) - the same cannot be said of
Canon (and other lens lines I have seen - especially the "off-brand"
ones, where the klunkers tend to be the rule and the good lenses the exceptions). And, BTW, I just bought the 24-120mm Nikkor - it is remarkably good, for a zoom.... (a bit of an understatement ;-), and F A R better
than the terrible (though earlier version) 28-200mm Tamron zoom I tried.
