It is hard to keep old camera meters running properly, alas. I would
probably give up on it, and look for a good old hand meter, like a
Weston or Seconic Studio - you will learn more about photography
technique with that outfit than with most new ones. All second hand
(and new) Nikon-mount lenses will fit the Nikkormat (except the 21mm
f4) - an enormous selection is readily available, and used Nikkors are
an excellent investment, since they hold their value VERY well, if
purchased carefully, and are taken care of.
