Methinks that assessment may be a bit premature - there continues to be
a complete Nikon MF lens line available (and it remains more extensive
and complete than any other MF lens line available). While it is true
that new lens designs appear in the AF line, most of those are high-end
lenses that are suitably sturdy and pleasant to use for even us plastic-AF haters. I have heard for many years now of the demise of the
Nikkor MF line, but very few MF lenses have actually become unavailable.
