Rather than put up with the bulk and awkwardness of the external pack,
I find Radio Shack (or other) high-capacity type NiCads perfect (light,
very long life, fast recycle time - fully charged, I get MANY rolls
[fast film...;-] with them [often a whole wedding {10-15 rolls} with
one set]). Build individual battery dischargers, so that they can be
kept in top condition. I left my gel-cel home when I started using
SB-24's and high-capacity NiCads.
You may also want to try lithium AA's...
