Look at the VX-2000/VX-1000/TRV-900 comparison images
of Bob and the record cabinet at image left - and the
others that show areas of fine vertical parallel lines...
I trade this better smoothness of the VX-1000 for the bit
better sharpness and noticeably better low-light ability
(and better color) of the VX-2000, though - the VX-2000
image is REALLY hard to beat, overall (though it is not
perfect - the HAD CCDs bleed some with bright lights,
as with the edge of Bob's face with the window behind...).
All camcorders are compromise balances of various picture
characteristics, but in general, 3-chippers with HAD
chips of larger size have fewer limitations - but there
are still many less than optimum characteristics left...;-)
