Welcome to the world of digital video imaging...;-)
I assume you mean the slight "stair-stepping",
"sawtooth" effect you see on contrasty edges in motion?
If the camera/subject do not move, or the edge contrasts
are low, this should go away. Most Mini-DV cameras show
this effect on near horizontal lines about the same way,
but the appearance of this effect on near verticals
and diagonals varies with different models and with
type (1-chip worse than 3-chip). It also varies with the
amount of sharpening dialed in (when this is an option).
I suspect you have maxed out the VX-2000 sharpness
adjustment in the "custom controls"? If so, back it off
to +1 or +0 over the center position (or even lower,
if this edge effect really annoys you...). I enjoy the
amazing sharpness the VX-2000 is capable of (I set
the sharpness at +1), and put up with the edge effects,
which are greater than those of some less-sharp cameras
(but less than some that are also noticeably less sharp...;-).
