You don't say what the problem was the tape was intended to
cure (if there is no problem, there should be no effect from
using it...;-). Cleaning tapes normally have several minutes
of tape, with instructions to use them for only a few seconds
per cleaning attempt. The Sony Mini-DV cleaning tape
I've used has been effective in reducing problems I've had
with changing tape types/brands or with putting my usual
tape in a used camcorder and then back in one of my other
camcorders.
