Hmmm, a mystery... I have read several recent posts about the
quality (or lack thereof...) of the Mamiya lenses for the 645.
Having tried over a dozen samples in 45, 55, 70, 80 F2.8, 80M,
110, 150, 210, and 500mm, I was struck by the consistency of
the performance regardless of FL, and with the high quality
of the images. Having seen negatives shot with, or having
tried various Zeiss, Zenzenon, Pentax, and Fuji MF lenses,
I found the Mamiya lenses inferior to none (and better than
some) - they are simply excellent, even when used wide-open.
(Maybe I have just been lucky in finding so many sharp and
well-aligned Mamiya lenses, but it seems unlikely...)
Hope This Helps
