Yes - things are better than they used to be, when there
were few DV-AVI codec choices (and all of these had really
obvious problems, some not correctable with filtering),
but even now, not all codecs are created equal in image
quality and render speed... For those of us who want to
render in multiple passes, the codec quality is quite
important...
