Putting a $155 cover on a mic may push the price too high for some... An "inbetweener" solution: an MKE-
300 (nice
and light, BTW) wrapped in a couple layers of cheap
air-conditioner replacement filter foam (about $2 at
hardware stores). It works well. See it on a VX-2000
mic at the end of the VX-2000 review (long wait for
download of all the frame-grabs...), at:
