I like the MKE-300 (and often use it in pairs with a
Radio Shack dual-mono-to-stereo mini-plug adapter
for "stereo" sound), but with 3-4 TRV-900's I've tried
the MKE-300 on, I got quite audible motor-noise
pickup with all but one... Perhaps using it on a side
bracket would solve this problem (I use still-camera
flash-brackets, which are also useful for providing
a steadier hold on the camcorder for hand-held work).
