The situation may be worse, since some of us consider Velvia to be nearer 40 in speed. I assume that your flash is not TTL, since if it were, there would be no problem. If it is an Auto flash, or Manual,
I would set ASA 64 on it, but open the lens aperture 2/3 stop for
40, or 1/3 stop for 50 from the flash-recommended aperture setting.
