Lanc has other uses besides just during capture...
I use Lanc remotes to access turn-on/start/stop
of camcorders too high on poles to get at otherwise
(and one *can* use the RM-95 to mess-around
inside the camcorder... [BTW, is there any RELIABLE
info on enabling features on Sony one-chippers
with one WITHOUT risking camcorder functioning?]).
