--Variation in manufacturing is always potentially an issue, but the 85mm
--Kowa I tried (and the 55) was excellent.

--The camera has been out of production for MANY years, is mechanically complex,
--hard to find parts for, and (maybe) fairly reliable, but not a tank - so,
--unless you can buy at least two working bodies, I would not put a lot of money
--into lenses (they may become orphans). One body and a lens or two - or a
--whole big outfit - may make sense. It was a fine camera, underrated next to
--Hasselblad (it seems always that it isn't quality of product, but quality of
--image-making that sells the product - but don't get me ranting on this....)
