I used to have a Kenyon KS-4 gyro for stills, but
when tried with Hi-8 video cameras (what I had at
the time), the vibration was enough to cause
mistracking. Also, while the gyro is quite good
for "liquifying" motions when there are fairly slow
high-amplitude influences on motion, or are
low-amplitude vibrations, the gyro was nearly
useless during shooting when flying or driving in
very bumpy conditions - when the gyro "hits the
stops", its motion-smoothing influence stops, and
it tries to make weird turns. The gyro is also
noisy, possibly not important for your purpose...
