For examples of what the results look like,

(TRV-9, daylight infrared capability not disabled,
in B&W mode to remove poor color...). With later
Sony models with "night-shot", the aperture is
forced open when NS is engaged, causing overexposure
in bright light. Adding crossed polarizers + a
neutral-density filter (+ a no. 87, red, or even
dark yellow, to enhance the IR effect by removing
most visible light), similar effects can be seen,
but no "X-ray" results...;-)
