Uh, well, hardly.... While it is true that the magnification in
H.P. finders is SLIGHTLY reduced compared with non-HP finders, the
prism size, and eyepiece size are considerably increased. Go take a
look at Nikon F3, F4, 8008, N90 and compare eyepiece size to other cameras. Then look at the sports finders for the Nikon F series -
the eyepiece is 1"x1.5"! (With only slightly more image
magnification reduction.)
