It is subtle in the building comparison, since the adjacent
tones are closer than in the cans and trees examples... But
if you look at the white roof top, you can see a false dark
top edge in the GL2 frame. With the trees, the branches sit
in "pools" of lighter tone in the sky that surround the
branches in the GL2 frame, a bit "unsightly", I think...;-)

If these frames were grabbed from interlaced motion-video
footage (I think they were...), the image is representative
of the look of the motion video for defects like
oversharpening - though in many respects, these images as
seen on TV would look different (I would expect the
oversharpening to look worse, since most TVs also sharpen
the image, adding to the dark and light haloing already
there).

This is a good idea. As I pointed out, these frame grabs
show little about the motion-video artifacting (I shoot
my tests hand-held, so these motion-effects can be seen).
Often, though, obvious oversharpening exaggerates other
problems like stair-stepping, line discontinuities,
and moire patterning... BTW, expect slightly reduced
resolution with the GL2 in frame-mode, and "exaggerated
resolution" with the VX2000 in PS-mode (an odd effect that
makes things in motion "glitter"). I don't know what
PS-mode looks like with the TRV950...
