Took the camera with me to the optomitrist,
who lent me 1/4 diopter lenses to modify my
normal-distance correction with, so we could
come up with best 3.5-4' correction (the
apparent viewing distance of most camera VF
screens [but NOT the read-outs!]).

It was 1/2 diopter away from normal, for me
(probably for anyone...), though I had
another pair of glasses made with only 1/4
diopter difference, for use at movies and for
night driving - both gave me back a continuous
near-to-far focus ability for normal seeing
(without the gaps I had before), plus the
better camera viewing.

They work well for everything! (But be careful
with night driving 'til you get used to them...)
