Hi--
Maybe Mark Wagner committed one of the "crimes of youth" excessive
emotional attachment to a product!
He is of course free to disagree with anything anyone says. But personal
sniping and backstabbing are unacceptable in my view. And he would not
stop!
>Yes - most peculiar... He asked for advice about VX-2000 VS. GL-1 on
the
NGs (I suspect now he was looking for reinforcement for a decision
already
made...;-), then disagreed with the advice (certainly reasonable, but
his arguments were weak in both posts and emails to me), and responded
to my emails not with more emails, but with groundless personal attacks
against me on the NGs - not acceptable... I generally find it best to
confront someone who does that directly, publicly, quickly, and
reasonably
kindly so that it doesn't get out of hand. (I left the videouniversity
VX1000 discussion group when a couple of people made it hard to have
reasonable discussions of issues - and I have no intention of leaving
the
video NGs.)
For what it is worth, I have found your website very informative and
useful,
and your contributions to rec.video.production interesting, helpful,
obviously based on experience and real-world testing, sage and logical.
I guess that your experience in still photography and its various lenses
has
given you insights into the similar, but not identical, problems of
comparing the components of video cameras.
I hope you continue your contributions and comments as vigorously as
ever.
>Thanks for your comments.
And I have visited Ithaca, too!
