I agree...
You can see oversharpened edges, color biases,
problems with rendering parallel near-vertical
lines, and differences in sharpness, contrast,
and low-light reach. I added descriptiona of
motion-video, when differences were more obvious
with it (and sound "color" and noise descriptions).
With a good computer monitor, the frame grabs do
look enough different in important characteristics
to be of some use for comparison, I think...

I agree - I like the pictures of neither compared with the
other 3-chippers reviewed. The XL-1, though, shows less
stairstepping and problems with verticals compared with
the GL-1 - but the VX-2000, at a price only slightly higher
than the GL-1, easily surpasses it in virtually every
way, I think...
