You can find both (critically...) reviewed at:
www.David-Ruether-Photography.com/camcorder-comparison.htm
You will find only frame-grabs (jpg'd...) and not
motion-video due to download considerations (but
there are verbal descriptions of motion-video [and
sound] characteristics, too...). Nutshell...?
OK... One has a busy, heavily-artifacted picture
that is somewhat off-color in terms of neutrality,
with only so-so resolution, and average low-light
ability (and "colored" sound from its built-in mic,
and no manual control over audio levels); for
only a few hundred dollars more, the other has a
very sharp, neutral-colored picture with fewer
negative artifacts, better shadow rendering, and
much better low-light ability (the picture quality
is easily the best of all the "handicam"-form
camcorders). Add to that excellent sound from the
built-in mic, line-level input, manual-control over
audio (and also the picture characteristics, in
meaningful ways...), batteries that last "forever"
- and I do not think there is much of a contest
between these two (I consider one to be "bottom
of the heap" of the 3-chippers I tries, the other
"top" - and with the nearly identical prices,
well.......;-). Not that the GL-1 is bad - it
isn't; the VX-2000 is just very noticeably better,
for nearly the same price...
