Bottom line: in most respects, the GL-1 was the
worst performer of the 3-chippers covered, and the
VX2000 was the best. If the price is close where
you are, there is no contest...;-)

None, unless you are in a PAL country, intend to
use the output mainly for film transfer or computer
display, or must grab many stills from the motion-video.
Otherwise, it just degrades the quality of the
motion-video.

Yes. The supplied mic has an exaggerated response
in the bass and top end - and the AGC cannot be defeated.
Using an external mic, level-matched to make best
use of the AGC, can give good results...
