Hi--
Yes, I have read the reviews, but I often wonder how bias one is on these
reviews. I know, it is hard to decipher all aspects of each camera performance.
I guess the price one pays for a camcorder is the best benchmark for all around
quality. I have found out that Spike Lee did an entire movie with the Sony VX-
1000 digital camera a while back, so I can use that as a reference point also
towards the VX-2000.

Wha'? Bias???! ;-)
Everyone has biases - but mine tend to be toward best possible picture
and sound quality (along with reliability, ease of use, compatibility,
etc. - with little attention to "side features", like stills-capability,
look of the camera, mfgr., etc.). Bottom line must be first, what the
picture is like; and second, what the sound is like - everything else
starts around "eighth or ninth"...;-) I disliked both the picture and
sound of the GL-1; the only Mini-DV camera that is (mostly) satisfactory
in picture and sound quality is the VX-2000 - all others fit somewhere
between (though this should NOT be taken to mean that the VX-2000 is
"perfect" and "night-and-day" better than the "terrible" GL-1 - it isn't).
