The FG is definitely much more than a toy! (Think of it as an N2000, but
without the weight and size of the motor...) I'm not sure I would
want to use it when steady hand-held slow shutter-speed ability is
required (it is hard to hold steady at 1/30th with a 50mm lens,
whereas an F4 is very easy - mass helps, as does a smooth shutter
release...! ;-) It sounds like the slow flash synch would also be
a problem for you. It makes a great little travel/hiking/snap-shooter
body, though.
