The FE-2 and FM-2 are virtually the same camera, but the FE-2 adds
TTL flash, aperture priority auto, and quartz-timing to the shutter.
(So, you lose the shutter when the battery fails - big deal! The batteries are tiny and easy to carry; they rarely fail; and you gain
the shutter timing precision of the quartz timer.) To this, add a
wonderful meter read-out that allows precision control of exposure.
(Any bracket increment you want, right there in the finder! Or any compensation for snow, etc., without removing your eye from the
finder.) (You can also set up flash TTL fill ratios, using the FE-2
meter display and ASA ring.) So, Nikon, why is this camera not still available???
Hope this helps.
