Avoid the FG-20 (no TTL flash, and very awkward manual exposure -
the FG is much better in features: TTL flash, manual-auto-program exposures, and is also very light weight, nicely finished in the chrome version by today's standards, but is also not ideal for heavy use or
for low light photography [it is too light to hand hold well at slow shutter speeds]).
The FE-2 and FA (and FM-2, FM, FE) are basically the same body, but
with different features. Both have all the good stuff (no AF) on
them for picture taking, plus the FA has some extras of questionable value like matrix metering and program exposure (the shutter priority mode can be useful). The main practical difference is in the metering display (definitely nicer in the FE, and the ambient light meter
stays on when the flash is on - nice for setting up TTL fill ratios, etc.), and the shutter release (which is unexpectedly softer on the
FA - I can use the FA more securely hand held in low light than the
FE-2, so I reluctantly switched from FE-2's to FA's).
Hope this helps.
