Well, heck, it's EASY... - just aim the camera at a light! ;-), ;-), ;-)
But, uh, seriously...., when I *can* see the FE/FE-2 meter, I do prefer
it, since it gives a good sense of where you are with the exposure (since
the whole shutter speed range is displayed), where the meter recommends
you go with the exposure, and where you will go with the exposure (making exposure corrections directly while metering is intuitive and easy with
this camera - but with the FM-type meter, anything outside of +/- 1/2
stop or so from meter-indicated exposure is unknown territory...).
