Premiere 5.1a works just fine on a PC with Win98...
And, you have the choice of dual source-monitor
3-point editing or direct timeline editing with a
full-size preview window - and relatively fast
rendering (depending on codec used and CPU speed).
I was not impressed with FCP in a brief look at it
on a G3 - it seemed rather indirect in its approach
to modifying/controling clips and transitions, and
rendering was very slow... (and, unfortunately, this
expensive program for the G-3 could not be run on
a G-4 - two people I know bought the G-3/FCP combo
just before the G-4 arrived, and were left in the
cold in terms of updating...).
