Um, the FA and F2 are VERY different cameras.......

----F2: large, heavy, stop-down metering with AF lenses, unless has "A"
type meter-head, all mechanical, all metal, VERY accurate finder, no
TTL flash, 1/60th sync., DURABLE, manual operation only.
----FA: small, light, AI('d) lenses necessary, quartz-timed shutter,
somewhat innacurate viewfinder, TTL flash, 1/250th sync., M-A-S-P
metering modes, Matrix metering - sort of an N70 without the motor,
AF, and the program modes....

For back-up, the FA would probably serve better. For the main body,
the F2 has that accurate finder.... (and, can use ALL Nikkors ever made).
Hope This Helps
