Hmmm, you're the second person who has taken from the above that I
don't like the FA, when the reverse is true, and I have written a
couple of posts about that recently.... A mystery!
BTW, I have two 8008's and two F3's that I also would not use as
chocks to keep my car from rolling on a steep hill.... (and I like
them, too! ;-). I like the FG as a very light-weight camera with
lots of useful features. To replace it, I would look at the
Nikon FE/FE-2/FM/FM-2/FA/F2/F3/N2000 bodies - all nice, and
pleasantly "old-fashioned". In newer-type (ah, "plastic") bodies,
I would look at the 6006 and 8008, unless AF performance is a
primary interest, in which case, look at the N70 and N90.
If you can afford it (and lift and pack it....;-), the F4 is
very nice!
