Hmmm, I have run across this before...;-)
It will work TTL with the F3, BUT at only one default
ASA (you may have hit it, or be using color negative
materials with enough latitude to cover), but NO ASA
info is transfered by the adapter (it is normally
picked up by the feeler in the foot of an F3 TTL
flash from the tab on the ASA ring on the body flash
shoe, accessory flash shoe, or remote-cord flash shoe).
A few flashes designed to be used on both the F3 and
standard ISO TTL shoes did allow the ASA to be set
manually (and meaningfully - it was not just a dial-info
setting, as it is on most flashes) on the flash - the
Vivitar 5600 (which is where most of these adapters
come from) was one of those.
BTW, if you count the total number of TTL contacts,
you come up with one short for the F3, alas - we F3
lovers would like it to be true, but (sigh! ;-), it
isn't...
