Excellent camera. It doesn't have TTL flash, AF, etc., but it is a
great basic picture taking machine. The weak element in all the meters
(not just the dp-1 and dp-11) is the variable resister. Just use it
until the meter needle begins to bobble, then worry about it (many people switch to the [meterless] standard prism and lose ALL the
electronics). The CdS cells do have memory - just wait a minute or so
after pointing the camera at a very bright light before relying on
a reading of a dark subject - otherwise forget it, there is little
other practical difference in the cell types. Relax, and enjoy using
a nice camera.
