The Alps is excellent for graphics printing, but can't hold a
candle to an Epson photo printer printing photos with 6
colors on inkjet photo-paper (or even 720dpi Epson
paper...).
On plain paper, almost any good color printer looks better
than the Epson when printing photos...
Optimize the materials, though, and the Epson photo prints
win (the prints really look like photos...!). (We have an
Alps MD-1000, an HP 692C, an Epson Stylus Color II, and an
Epson 700 photo printer...)
