I'll second that! These old slow Ektars are first-rate, and the equal
at normal taking apertures of the good current lenses, like the
similar-design (and even slower) Nikkor M's (though maybe with a bit
less coverage...).

Sorry to jump into the middle of a discussion in a non-discussion
group, but the 203mm Ektar (dialyte) is not of similar design to
the Nikkor-M (tessar). All of the Commercial Ektars (and some of the
other "plain" Ektars) were in fact tessar types, but not the 203.
The Nikkor Ms are also multi-coated and in modern shutters. That
said, the 203mm Ektar is still an excellent performer and a bargain
for anyone looking for a light weight lens for 4x5 field photography
(especially black and white).
