I have not tried running the DVCAM tapes in My VX-1000's, but I have run the other two. Since the info is digital, I suspect that there
would be no appearance differences in the images, only an issue of
durability/dropout-rates. I have had no image problems with repeated
playings of the PR tape, but there MAY have been more sound problems
(this is VERY uncertain, and I do NOT want to start a rumor!) - a
short pulse (full amplitude from zero, but only one polarity)
occasionally appeared on footage shot on PR (seen on first playing - more did not appear later), but this could have been from other
causes. Anyone have more info on the cause of these pulses? If you
are shooting picture only, and archiving is not an issue, I would
use the PR tapes (they may be fine in every other respect also,
but I don't know...).
