I also have been unable to output video to the camcorder with
DVDeck with Win'95 for more than about 4 minutes without breaks
(too bad, since this potentially offered a way around the 2-gig
AVI file barrier). Running Windows "System Monitor" while
outputting video with DVDeck revealed that 100% of CPU and RAM
resources were being used (K-6 200 with 96megs RAM). Moving the
virtual memory swap file to a fast SCSI drive didn't solve the
problem. On the bright side, DVDeck provides a convenient way
to control the camcorder from the computer, provides a cleaner
assembly method than the Spark software (just need to add 3-4
seconds extra "footage" at the front of the AVI file [gets lost
in copying], and manually cue the last good frame on the AVI
file last copied to the camcorder...), and the software is not
as buggy as the Spark software. Maybe with a faster computer,
the easy Premier time-line assembly of multiple large AVI files
will be possible... Sorry, no help on the input end, other than
to suggest using the Spark software (or NT) for capture.
