Anything you can get on the air...;-)
But, seriously, that is the answer. If you have
someting unique and important, it will be shown
regardless of the quality; if not, then the quality
of the production generally needs to be very high
(perhaps higher than medium-quality MiniDV, though
a lot of this is shown in non-mainline series).

Generally, one of the few better 3-CCD camcorders,
at a minimum, though in good lighting, with a lot
of work in post, you can sometimes get away with
1-chippers (but much of the time you can't, and
the audio tends to be inferior in one-chippers,
also...). I would not look to expecting to do
top-quality work with cheap gear, though for
particular projects with standards compatible
with the particular characteristics of your gear
and skills, you can sometimes do it...
